Levine’s performance was about average during the quarter, but he did very well in quizzes. His final showed sharp improvement: his score was among the top five. His proof-writing in the final was excellent. Overall, his performance was B range.
Course description: Emphasis was put on writing proofs. Students were assigned weekly homeworks and took weekly quizzes. There were one midterm and one final. Homework problems and quiz problems were nontrivial and this caused somewhat low class average in homework and quiz scores. However, students continued to work hard in this course and the result in the final exam was very satisfactory indeed: most students wrote clear, logical, and excellent proofs in the final exam. Better than my expectation. Due to this result, over two thirds of the students earned B or higher.
